Lately, I’ve been exploring the intersection of love and power. I became curious when I continued to “mysteriously” pull oracle cards that related to my personal power at different times and from different decks. It really got ridiculous.
Then, I became confused when I had an interaction with someone whose words jolted me into an older, more victim-like version of myself. I tried to hold the conversation in the vibration of love, but in doing so, my boundaries were violated. It felt like I was suddenly standing in the middle of an intersection with cars whizzing uncomfortably near.
Whose fault was my feeling of powerlessness? I don’t really need to tell you, do I?
We never get to control how someone else behaves, but we always get to choose the energetic vibration in which we reside. So after an intentional reset, I’m actively opting to personify personal power. Perhaps this is a tougher kind of love. Or at least a love that includes loving myself.
The cosmos aligns with me. Always, but especially now. We are very close to Summer Solstice (Thursday, June 20 at 2:50 p.m. Denver time.) This is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and provides us a unique opportunity to use the potent energy of the sun as a powerful ally.
Sun energy, as you might imagine, is masculine (dynamic) energy and is associated with traits like confidence, assertiveness and decisiveness. It is energy of the heart, energy of fire, energy of manifestation.
The sun offers both its love and its power by shining to keep us alive. Ancient cultures celebrated Solstice with fire, feasts, dancing and ritual. They understood the value of connecting with nature’s cycles–something we moderns have mostly lost to our detriment.
Summer Solstice is an opportune time for us to celebrate the completion of anything we have created since the Winter Solstice and to harness the fiery energy of the sun toward what we want to manifest next.
We can use Summer Solstice as a reminder to shine. To glow. And to remember we are Divine beings who can choose to hang out at the intersection of love and power, even when the way is not completely clear.
Next week, I will host two opportunities to celebrate Summer Solstice–Monday night at Taspen’s in Conifer and Thursday night (actual Solstice) at Welcome Goddess in Golden. Both are open to all gender identifications. Find out more at RememberYourWings.com.
