Last week, I found myself in Minnesota lying on a boat dock watching the Northern Lights and the Perseid meteor shower dance across the night sky. As you might imagine, it was stunning.
And now I’m pondering light. About a week before I left, I was driving “down the hill” as we foothills residents say, when I witnessed the biggest and brightest rainbow I have ever seen. And later as I headed back home, lightening illuminated huge swaths of the night sky. Last night, it was the bold Aquarius full moon creating crystal-like patterns on tree branches that had been rain-soaked earlier in the evening. Natural light is never not beautiful.
I think that is something we are meant to remember. And I believe we are also to understand that it doesn’t only pertain to that which is outside of us. We are meant to remember that we too are light, and because of this, our true nature is never not beautiful.
The wisdom of the Aquarius archetype teaches us to use our unique expression of light to support the collective. I once heard a speaker describe it as we are each like an individual bulb of a large disco ball and together, we create a brilliant spinning orb of light. I love that!
I want my disco bulb to shine brightly during this massive shift in consciousness that often makes our world feel dark and uncertain. For me this means understanding that my purpose is who I am, not what I do. My work, or what I create, is what I’m meant to do with my purpose. So, searching for my purpose is not necessary. Of course, I should always be open to expansion and growth, but my main task is to spend my precious time on earth expressing my particular essence.
One thing I’ve noticed about light is that you have to slow down to truly appreciate it. Some of it like meteors and rainbows, might even stop you in your tracks. But noticing intricate shadow patterns created by the light through tree branches takes a bit more effort. When we photographed the Northern Lights, we slowed the shutter speeds of our phone cameras by ten times and that was when we saw a greater spectrum of color.
Whirring through life at break-neck speed in a futile effort to keep up is a pattern most of us are in, at least to some degree. But nature reminds that we must pause if we want to have a richer life.
I took lots of time last weekend to steep into nature and the full moon energy, and therefore I’m only now offering you a free full moon oracle card. We are still in the portal of the Aquarius full moon, so let me know if you would like one. I can also provide a channeled message for your card or full intuitive reading or healing.
